Acupressure Therapy – Acupressure is an alternative medicine technique often used in conjunction with reflexology. It is based on the concept of life energy, which flows through “meridians” in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points, or trigger points, with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices. $70 – approx. 60 minutes

Birth Chart Reading – This is for a general birth chart reading. Want to see what the most important components of your personality and overall life experiences are? First you will need a birth chart. If you don’t have it available, you can provide me with your birthdate, time and location. I will cover the location of your major placements and any other intuitive information. This covers 30 minutes of typing your reading and 30 minutes of coverage time with you. $35 – approx. 30 minutes

Chakra Analysis – Chakra means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. Each of the seven main chakras has a corresponding name, color, specific area of the spine from the sacrum to the crown of the head, and health focus. Find out which ones may need some attention! $25 – approx. 30 minutes

Herbal Foot Soak – An “herbal foot soak” is simply a fancy term for soaking your feet in a giant tea. I like to think of herbal foot soaks as a feast for the feet! Come enjoy a cup of tea to drink and, while you are at it, I will prepare some tea for soaking! (herbals will be determined therapeutically) $30 – approx. 30 minutes

Herbal Cellulite Therapy – For clients hoping to improve the look of cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, lower abdomen and arms, a body wrap using the Herbal Cellulite Treatment is the gold standard. I prefer the singing bowl, but other instruments maybe used as well. $30 – approx. 30 minutes

HOLISTIC WELLNESS VISIT – What to Expect

The field of holistic wellness is becoming increasingly common and more widely accepted as a vital component of healthcare delivery.  Holistic wellness has been in use for hundreds of years, and traditional/world-medicine for thousands, however the evidence base for natural therapies has grown considerably in the last few decades.

Various people are interested in visiting a holistic health practitioner in order to safely incorporate natural treatments for a wide assortment of health issues.  They may be unsure of what their first visit will look like. If you are considering visiting an HHP and would like to know what to expect during your first visit, here is a breakdown of a typical first visit.

Length of Visit

Your first visit with me, a holistic health practitioner, may take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, which is significantly longer than a conventional medical appointment.  This first visit is extended in order to give me a chance to get to know you and gain an in-depth knowledge of your health, both past and present.

Desired Outcomes

On your first visit, I will want to know about your health goals and desired outcomes. This may mean getting health issues under control or simply helping you feel more energetic and healthier all around. If you have ailments that are a concern, or a specific outcome or goal that you want to work towards, please communicate that to me in this initial appointment.

Health History

I will ask you questions in order to make a detailed record of your health history and concerns. This will involve a deep dive into your current and past health, medications, and lifestyle. You can expect a large portion of your first visit to be dedicated to having a discussion and giving me a lot of information. It is important, on your first visit, that I get an honest and comprehensive look at your health history and true understanding of your individual experience in order to properly recommend a plan for you going forward.

Questions About Diet

Food is a focal point in holistic medicine, so I will be asking a number of questions regarding your diet, including what you eat regularly, any supplements that you take, and how you feel after eating certain foods. They will also connect the dots to GI health, energy, stress, and sleep. This will help me to come up with a plan that fits your individual situation and is root-cause-focused. You may be asked to complete a food diary and other paperwork prior to that first visit.

Physical Exam and Tests

On the first visit, I will conduct a brief physical examination and recommend any laboratory tests that may be relevant in order to complete an assessment. When making an assessment, I may ask to use your conventional medical records. I may also incorporate diagnostic techniques and attention to physical details that can provide a holistic understanding of the client’s complaints.

Next Steps

At the end of the visit, I will make some initial suggestions and then talk with you to create an individualized plan and schedule a follow-up visit. Depending on the findings from the intake and examination, I may recommend some or all of these treatments: nutritional diet plan, herbal medicine, supplements, mind-body techniques, stress reduction approaches, lifestyle changes, reflexology, moxibustion, cupping, aromatherapy, heat therapy, acupressure, hydrotherapy, referrals to other providers, and more.
